Samsung to build first combined cycle power plant in Vietnam

Samsung C&T Corp., a construction company under Samsung Group, said on February 2 that it has signed a contract to build a combined-cycle power plant worth $510 million from Vietnam.

Samsung C&T Corp. told the press that the company has received an order from the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group to build the first combined cycle power plant in Vietnam.

Samsung C&T Corp. will form a consortium with Lilama Corp. to design and manufacture gas and steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators, substations and transmission lines for the new plant in Vietnam.

The company did not provide details on the time frame for the construction of the new plant.
