Mohamed Salah's agent Ramy Abbas has dismissed rumours that the Egyptian star could leave Liverpool this summer.
Salah signed a new contract with the club last summer, becoming Liverpool's highest earner. However, amid a summer of big spending from Saudi Pro League clubs, he appears to be the next star to leave Europe for the Middle East.
Saudi Arabian media have suggested that Al Ittihad could be the team to make an offer for Salah, having added Karim Benzema to their ranks. However, Abbas has been quick to quash the rumours.
"If we were considering leaving Liverpool this year, we would not have renewed our contracts last summer," Abbas wrote on social media. "Mohamed remains committed to Liverpool."
Abbas' comments confirm that Salah is unlikely to become the fourth member of the squad to leave Anfield for the Saudi Pro League this summer. Roberto Firmino joined Al-Ahli when his contract with the Reds expired, Fabinho joined Al Ittihad, who won the league last season, while Jordan Henderson joined Steven Gerrard at Al Ettifaq.
“I think it took a long time to renew the contract, but now it's done so we just have to focus on what's next,” Salah told the media last year after committing his future to Liverpool until 2025. “I think you can see in the last five or six years the team has always improved.”
"Last season we were close to winning four trophies, but unfortunately in the last week of the season we lost two. I think we are in a good position to fight for everything. We have new signings as well. We just have to keep working hard, have a good vision, be positive and keep doing everything."
The quadruple Salah mentioned in that comment is something Liverpool failed to replicate last season. They dropped to fifth place, meaning they missed out on Champions League football this season, but Salah still finished the season with 30 goals in all competitions.
