Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Al Nassr beat hosts Al Khaleej 3-1 in the 16th round of the Saudi Pro League.
For the first time in 2025, Ronaldo scored two goals in a match for Al Nassr. He opened the scoring with a long-range shot, then tapped the ball into an empty net from close range to seal a 3-1 victory. The Portuguese superstar raised his record to 919 goals in 1,258 career matches.
In the 65th minute, midfielder Otavio dribbled the ball into the penalty area to attract people, then passed it back to the captain who shot low diagonally from the edge of the penalty area in an open position. The ball slowly rolled to the far corner, but goalkeeper Ibrahim Sehic stood still and watched the net shake.
Before scoring, Ronaldo also shot the ball 4 times, but 3 times missed the goal because they hit the defender. Therefore, his opening goal was important.
However, Ronaldo then missed a better chance to open the scoring. In the 72nd minute, defender Sultan Al Ghannam crossed from the right into the penalty area for Ronaldo in an open position, only about 10 meters from the goal. However, the Al Nassr captain shot with his right foot, hitting the left foot of the ball, causing it to slowly roll into the opponent's goalkeeper's hands.
Al Khaleej surprisingly equalized 8 minutes later, from a penalty kick by midfielder Kostas Fortounis. But in the next kick-off, defender Al Ghannam put Al Nassr ahead 2-1. In the final minute of injury time, striker Saad Haqawi received a pass from Marcelo Brozovic, facing the goalkeeper. He played a teammate by passing across for Ronaldo to easily tap into the empty net. Although he did not score, in return, Haqawi received Ronaldo's gratitude and many hugs.
The win helped Al Nassr reclaim third place, but still nine points behind top-placed Al Hilal.
