Cristiano Ronaldo scored both goals in Al Nassr's 2-0 win over Damac in round 12 of the Saudi Pro League.
For the first time this season, Ronaldo has scored two goals in two consecutive matches for Al Nassr. Against Damac, the 39-year-old superstar opened the scoring with his 170th career penalty, then sealed the victory in the second half with a left-footed shot from about 7 meters away. He raised his record to 915 career goals, 65 more than Lionel Messi.
Al Nassr opened the scoring from a penalty in the 15th minute, when midfielder Otavio headed the ball into the opponent's hand in the penalty area. Having taken the penalty, Ronaldo ran and stopped, before shooting into the bottom left corner, past goalkeeper Amin Bukhari.
Ronaldo was given 8.9 points by Sofascore in this match, the highest number for him for Al Nassr since April 2024. Because in addition to the goal, he also created two good opportunities for his teammates in the first half, but Sadio Mane and Angelo Gabriel failed to take advantage of them to score.
When Abdulrahman Ghareeb gave him a good opportunity in the 79th minute with a cross from the left, Ronaldo did not miss the opportunity to shoot with one touch of his left foot into the far corner, deciding the match.
Ronaldo could have scored a hat-trick if his shot from about 4m away in the 62nd minute had not gone wide.
3 points help Al Nassr reduce the gap with the leading team Al Hilal to 5 points, but this opponent has one match left to play.
Ronaldo also surpassed Karim Benzema to move into second place in the race for the Golden Boot, with 9 goals, 3 goals less than leader Aleksandar Mitrovic. If he maintains his form of 7 goals in the last 4 matches, the Portuguese superstar can quickly surpass the Al Hilal striker.
In the next match, Al Nassr continues to play at home against Al Sadd (Qatar) in the AFC Champions League on Monday evening, December 2.
