Ronaldo celebrates his goal in Al Nassr's 5-1 win over Al Tai in the Saudi Pro League on March 30.

Al Nassr are having a disappointing season, losing to Al Ain in the AFC Champions League quarter-finals and losing hope of winning the Saudi Pro League. They are second on 59 points, 12 points behind Al Hilal, with nine games remaining.

But on an individual level, Ronaldo still shows his impressive scoring ability at the age of 39. The Portuguese striker just scored a hat-trick to help Al Nassr crush second-to-last team Al Tai 5-1 in the 25th round of the Saudi Pro League on March 30. He raised his all-time scoring record to 882 goals in 1,214 matches, moving closer to the 900-goal mark.

Ronaldo continues to lead the Saudi Pro League's top scorer list with 26 goals, four ahead of Al Hilal's Aleksandar Mitrovic. But Ronaldo has the advantage as Mitrovic is injured and could be out for several weeks. If he maintains this lead for the rest of the season, Ronaldo will become the first player to win the Golden Boot in four different top-flight leagues.

Ronaldo currently holds the record as the only player to win the Golden Boot in three of the top five European national championships, namely the Premier League, La Liga and Serie A. In the 2020-2021 season, while playing for Juventus, Ronaldo scored 29 goals in 33 matches, an average of 0.9 goals per match in Serie A. In both goals and efficiency, he was at the top of the league.

Previously, the Portuguese striker won the Premier League Golden Boot in the 2007-2008 season with 31 goals in 34 matches. In La Liga, he scored the most goals three times, in the 2010-2011, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 seasons. His best achievement was 48 goals in 35 matches in the 2014-2015 season, an average of 1.4 goals per match.

Luis Suarez has also won the Golden Boot in three competitions, leading the Dutch national championship in 2009-2010 (35 goals), the English Premier League in 2013-2014 (31 goals) and La Liga in 2015-2016 (40). The Uruguayan striker could win the Golden Boot in a fourth competition, having joined the MLS. He currently has five goals in seven games for Inter Miami.

Similarly, Robert Lewandowski also won the Golden Boot in three countries. The 35-year-old striker leads the scoring list in La Liga in the 2022-2023 season with 23 goals, has won the Bundesliga Golden Boot seven times in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and won the "Golden Boot" with Lech Poznan in the Polish national championship in the 2009-2010 season with 18 goals.

Other players to have achieved this feat include Romario, who was the top scorer for Barca in La Liga in 1993–94, PSV in the Dutch national championship in 1988–89, 1989–90, 1990–91 and Vasco da Gama in the Brazilian national championship in 2001 and 2005. Romario's compatriot, Marcio Amoroso, was the top scorer for Guarani in Brazil in 1994, Dortmund in the Bundesliga in 2002 and Udinese in Serie A in 1999.

Ruud van Nistelrooy won the Golden Boot twice with PSV in the 1999 and 2000 domestic league, Man Utd in the 2002-03 Premier League and Real Madrid in the 2006-07 La Liga. Another former La Liga player, Sonny Anderson, won the Golden Boot with Servette in the 1992-93 Swiss Super League, three times in Ligue 1 (once with Monaco and twice with Lyon) and with Al-Rayyan in the 2004-05 Qatar League.

Isidro Langara won the Golden Boot on three different continents, in Spain (1934, 1935 and 1936), in Argentina (1940) and in Mexico (1944 and 1946). The legendary Alfredo di Stefano won the Golden Boot five times in Spain with Real Madrid (1954, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959), Argentina with River Plate (1947) and in Colombia with Millonarios (1951, 1952).
