Review and monitor the agreement on water supply service implementation in Hai Duong

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has just requested the District People's Committee to direct specialized departments and Commune People's Committees to strengthen management according to their authority over the management, operation and supply of clean water for rural areas in the area. Review and evaluate the situation of submitting and approving water supply development plans and organizing implementation in the area. In case the water supply unit does not meet the requirements, resolutely handle and request correction. Sanction or propose sanctioning according to authority for administrative violations in water supply activities of water supply units in the area.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, there are 73 rural water supply works in the province that are operating stably. By the end of 2022, 99.34% of the rural population in the province will have access to clean water that meets quality standards with a quantity of over 100 liters/person/day, exceeding the target of the National Strategy for Clean Water Supply and Rural Sanitation by 2030 approved by the Prime Minister (the target is that 65% of the rural population will have access to clean water that meets quality standards with a minimum quantity of 60 liters/person/day).

However, there are still some water supply units that invest, build, and provide water supply services that do not ensure regulations on production, supply, consumption of clean water and ensure water supply safety. The quality of service at the connection point is not in accordance with technical standards, leading to a shortage of domestic water for people, especially in Binh Xuyen commune (Binh Giang).
