The electronic voting results showed that 386 delegates voted in favor (accounting for 78.14%). Thus, with the majority of delegates voting in favor, the National Assembly officially passed the Law on Forces Participating in Protecting Security and Order at the Grassroots Level.
Before voting, the National Assembly listened to Chairman of the National Defense and Security Committee Le Tan Toi present a report explaining, accepting and revising this draft law.
According to the explanatory report, on October 27, the National Assembly discussed in the Hall the draft Law on Forces Participating in Protecting Security and Order at the Grassroots Level with 27 opinions from National Assembly deputies, one opinion from debate and one opinion from National Assembly deputy.
Basically, the opinions of the National Assembly deputies agreed with the draft Law. Based on the comments, the National Assembly Standing Committee directed the review and supplementation of a number of contents such as the scope of regulation (Article 1), the principles of organization and operation (Article 4) and working relations, coordination and support in organization, operation and task implementation (Article 5)...
Regarding the tasks of the forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level (Chapter II), the Standing Committee of the National Assembly has directed the research, review, supplementation and revision of the contents of regulations on the tasks of the forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level, not overlapping with the general tasks of the commune-level police, consistent with relevant regulations in the legal system.
