Quang Tri province has organized for people and tourists to visit relics and cemeteries in the evening.
Quang Tri Citadel in the night of gratitude
Specifically, from the evening of July 12, the province will pilot a program to visit the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Special Relic and the flower-releasing wharf on the banks of the Thach Han River in Quang Tri town. From the evening of July 17, the province will organize a program to visit the Hien Luong - Ben Hai National Special Relic.
The Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Special Monument was invested in and installed with an artistic lighting system at the end of April. This lighting system is located at the Central Monument, the South Gate, North Gate, Lao Xa, the Student Victory Monument and artistic sculptures. Similarly, the Hien Luong - Ben Hai National Special Monument has also been invested in and installed with an artistic lighting system at Hien Luong Bridge, Hien Luong Flag Tower, the Statue of Police Soldiers Protecting the Border, the Exhibition House "The 17th Parallel and the Aspiration for Unification", and the Complex House.
According to a representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri: Organizing visits to relics in the evening not only helps to create different spiritual tourism products to attract tourists, but also contributes to exploiting and promoting the value of historical relics.
In July, the province also organized for martyrs' relatives, people and tourists to visit the National Martyrs' Cemetery on Road 9 and the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery in the evening from around 7-9 pm. Organizing visits at the two national cemeteries in the evening is to meet the wishes of many people coming to Quang Tri to pay their respects, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2022); at the same time, it contributes to reducing the number of visitors during the day and helps people avoid the harsh hot weather. These two national cemeteries have also invested in installing an artistic lighting system, ensuring service for people visiting in the evening. The lighting system at these cemeteries is located in the Central Monument area, the Bell House, the Martyrs' Memorial House, and the main gate.
In Quang Tri province, there are currently 72 martyrs’ cemeteries with nearly 60,000 martyrs’ graves resting; including the National Martyrs’ Cemetery on Road 9 and the Truong Son National Martyrs’ Cemetery. Therefore, in July – the month of gratitude, people and tourists from all over the country come to Quang Tri in large numbers to visit and commemorate the heroic martyrs.
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day and the 50th anniversary of the 81-day and night battle to protect Quang Tri Citadel (1972-2022), Quang Tri town will also organize many night activities such as: Releasing flower lanterns to commemorate heroic martyrs on Thach Han River, and a night walking street along the South bank of Thach Han River.
