South Korean and US militaries conduct joint special operations drills

The US military said South Korean and US forces conducted a joint multi-regional special operations exercise from October 16-20 to enhance their combat coordination capabilities.

According to Yonhap news agency, on October 25, the US military said that South Korean and US forces conducted a multi-regional special operations joint exercise to enhance their ability to coordinate operations.

On Facebook, the US Special Operations Command in Korea (SOCKOR) said that the recent exercise involved US Navy SEALs and South Korean soldiers from the Navy SEALs and Army Special Operations Command, but did not disclose the location and time of the exercise.

A South Korean military official said the exercise took place between October 16 and 20.

SOCKOR emphasized that the exercise took place at sea, in the air and on land, enhancing the two countries' interoperability and combat capabilities in different environments.

UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters and South Korean landing ships also participated in the exercise.
