Cam Giang women skillfully mobilize members to donate land to open roads

Many communes and towns in Cam Giang district have been upgrading and expanding roads with the goal of building a model road in each village. Immediately after the locality had a policy and implementation plan, the Women's Union of communes and towns deployed it to the executive committee members and women's branches in the villages, developed a propaganda plan, directed the branches to establish a propaganda team, and effectively promoted the model of "Women participating in donating land to expand roads". The Standing Committee of the Women's Union and the propaganda team directly participated in implementing the work with the Party cell committee.

The expansion of roads is difficult because it will encroach on the residential land of many households. In 2023, when the village implemented the upgrading and expansion of the road through the house of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu, a women's union member in Trang Ky village, Tan Truong commune, although agreeing with the policy, her family did not want to demolish part of the house they were living in to donate land. The Women's Union of Tan Truong commune established a working group, coordinated with organizations and unions to meet and grasp the wishes and proposals of the family. "Slow and steady wins the race", after many times of propaganda and mobilization, Ms. Thu and her family agreed to demolish part of the house, move it back 1.2 m, and donate over 20 square meters of land. After donating the land, Ms. Thu's family also invested in rebuilding the project.

The above is just one of many families in communes and towns that have been propagandized and mobilized by the Women's Union of the commune and branch officials to agree with the local policy, voluntarily demolish the project, and donate land to widen the road. According to the District Women's Union, in 2023 alone, all levels of women's unions in the district coordinated to propagate and mobilize 610 households to donate a total of nearly 5,800 square meters of land. Typically, the Women's Union of Tan Truong commune coordinated to mobilize 277 households to donate 3,500 square meters; the Women's Union of Lai Cach town mobilized 25 households to donate 350 square meters...
