Secretary of Thu Phap village Party cell exchanged land with people to donate land for road construction

District Road 195 Phase 2 project is 4 km long, passing through Hong Quang, Doan Ket, and Le Hong communes (Thanh Mien). This is a traffic project without compensation funds to support site clearance, so the implementation of the construction has encountered many difficulties.

Thu Phap village has 5 households with rice fields within the project area. In early 2023, leaders of the Party Committee and government at all levels visited each household to propagate and mobilize people to donate land for road construction. After a period of propaganda, 4 households agreed to donate 3.2 sao of rice fields for road construction. "However, Mr. NVH's family did not agree to hand over the land because the rice field is the family's only source of livelihood," said Mr. Nua.

After many times of propaganda and persuasion, Mr. H's family still did not agree to donate land. Worried that the project would be behind schedule, Mr. Nua decided to exchange the fields, then donate the land to build the road. After discussing and receiving agreement from the family, Mr. Nua exchanged nearly 2 sao of fields to Mr. H's family. The entire exchanged area was handed over to the government by his family to implement the District Road 195 project.

According to Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thom (Mr. Nua's wife), the family's economy is quite difficult, she herself still works as a factory worker to support her husband and raise their children. For a long time, 3.2 sao of rice fields have been the family's main source of income. After donating the land, her family only has 1.4 sao of rice fields to cultivate, the economy will probably be more difficult than before.

"At that time, when we decided to exchange land and then donate land to build a road, many people thought that my family was busy with other people's business. The economy was already difficult, but I was still in prison and in trouble. With the encouragement of my wife, children and the authorities at all levels, I was determined to carry out my idea. I accepted to exchange 1.9 sao of my family's rice fields to open a major road, creating opportunities for my hometown to develop," said Mr. Nua. Previously, in 2016, Mr. Nua's family had also broken down the fence and donated more than 10 square meters of land for the commune to expand the traffic route.

Mr. Nua's actions have created a positive effect, strongly encouraging the movement of donating land to build roads in the locality. Not only donating land to build District Road 195, the whole village also has 15 households voluntarily donating about 300 m2 of land, relocating many works worth over 100 million VND to upgrade and expand rural roads.

Although Mr. Nguyen Van Nua has only been the Party Cell Secretary and Head of Thu Phap Village for nearly a year, the Party Cell has achieved many outstanding achievements. In 2023, Thu Phap Village Party Cell was assessed to have completed its tasks well. The poverty rate is 13 households, a decrease of 6 households compared to 2022. The average income per capita of the village reaches nearly 70 million VND/person/year...

With his dedication and enthusiasm, in 2023, Mr. Nguyen Van Nua was awarded a certificate of merit by the Chairman of Thanh Mien District People's Committee for his outstanding achievements in implementing breakthrough work.
