On December 1, the Ministry of Information and Communications and Vietnam Post Corporation issued a set of postage stamps "Tet Nham Dan," including 2 stamps and 1 block.
The stamp has a size of 37 x 37 (mm), the block has a size of 150 x 100 (mm) with face values of 4 thousand VND, 15 thousand VND and 38 thousand VND respectively, designed by artist Nguyen Quang Vinh.
The stamp set depicts the image of elite, powerful tigers depicted in the style of Hang Trong folk paintings, bringing the message of health, luck, and peace to every home. The background of the block depicts the image of the Tiger family happily gathering together to welcome the new spring under the forest of plum, peach, and apricot blossoms that are in full bloom every time Tet comes and spring comes.
For many Asian countries, the tiger is a symbol of strength and authority. Ranked 3rd in the 12 zodiac animals, the image of the tiger is also known as the King of the jungle, a sacred animal that has existed for a long time and is closely associated with the history and culture of the Vietnamese people.
The stamp set was issued as a message that Tet is a sacred moment for all things to be revived, so that children far from home have the opportunity to reunite with their families, together welcoming the New Year's Eve with the wish for luck, happiness, peace, and fortune to come in the new year.
The stamp set is available on the public postal network from December 1, 2021 to June 30, 2023.
