On October 11, the New York Times and Washington Post reported that candidate Donald Trump's campaign team requested the use of military aircraft and vehicles to protect the former President while he campaigned.

Previously, Mr. Trump shared on his social network Truth Social that there were “major threats” to his life.

Regarding the above request, US President Joe Biden announced on the same day that he had directed the administration to protect the former President as if he were a sitting president.

President Biden said the US Secret Service should honor Mr. Trump's request for military protection during the final stages of the election campaign if it does not exceed the protection required for a sitting president.

During this presidential campaign, so far, Mr. Trump has had two assassination attempts.

In mid-July this year, Mr. Trump was nearly shot in the head by a gunman at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

Just two months later, on the afternoon of September 15, while playing golf in West Palm Beach, Florida, he became the target of another assassin.
