A driver brazenly drove his car onto an overpass reserved for only certain types of vehicles and pedestrians on National Highway 5 through Kim Thanh District (Hai Duong).
At around 11:20 a.m. on April 10, a driver drove a truck from Dong village, Vu Dung commune (Kim Thanh) onto the overpass at km 65 + 650 on National Highway 5 to get to the other side of the road.
On the truck's trunk was a blue sign that read: "15C-353.45".
This overpass has 2 ramps for non-motorized vehicles and 2 ramps for pedestrians. At both ends of the ramps for non-motorized vehicles, there are signs prohibiting cars and pedestrians. Only certain types of non-motorized vehicles (motorbikes, motorbikes and bicycles) are allowed to pass.
Some residents of Dong village said that sometimes cars still intentionally go up this overpass to cross the street like the case above.
Driving a car into a prohibited area or a road with a sign prohibiting entry is a traffic violation. According to point i, clause 5, article 6 of Decree 168/2024/ND-CP dated December 26, 2024 of the Government, for the above violation, in addition to being fined from 4 to 6 million VND, the driver will also have 2 points deducted from his/her driving license.
