Demand for flu vaccination in Hai Duong increases

According to Hai Duong Newspaper reporters at a number of vaccination facilities in the province, recently, the demand for flu vaccination has increased.

At the Vaccination Room of the Provincial Center for Disease Control, from February 8 to 14, more than 100 people came to get flu shots every day, a 5-fold increase compared to the previous period.

In the past 10 days, Duc Minh private vaccination facility (Hai Duong city) has received more than 200 people coming to get flu shots, 3 times more than the previous days.

In addition, at some district-level medical centers, private hospitals, and other vaccination service facilities, the number of people coming to get flu shots has also increased compared to early February. Many health stations in the province also provide flu shots for people, but the vaccination schedule is fixed by day.

The reason for the increase in the number of Hai Duong people getting vaccinated against influenza is that the flu epidemic has been complicated recently. The province has recorded many cases of hospitalization due to complications of seasonal flu. Currently, the price of influenza vaccination is stable, from 290,000 - 340,000 VND/dose depending on the origin of France, the Netherlands, and Korea.

According to the provincial Center for Disease Control, vaccination facilities in the province ensure the amount of vaccines to meet the people's flu vaccination needs. Currently, it is the transitional season, the humid weather creates favorable conditions for infectious pathogens to spread, especially seasonal flu.

To proactively prevent the disease, people need to ensure personal hygiene, keep their bodies warm, and limit contact with flu patients. When experiencing symptoms of cough, fever, runny nose, headache, or fatigue, they should immediately go to a medical facility and not buy antiviral drugs on their own for treatment. The most effective measure to prevent seasonal flu is vaccination.
