As a poetry lover, my first poem was published and encouraged by the Editorial Board of Hai Duong Newspaper. I was very happy and have been a contributor since then until now.
In 1995, one early autumn morning, I returned to Hai Duong from the mountainous district of Luc Ngan (Bac Giang). When I crossed Cam Ly bridge, I found the scenery here so "charming", I stopped at a tea shop at the head of the bridge, sat and watched the Thuong river flowing towards Kiep Bac.
Cam Ly is the border between Chi Linh (Hai Duong) and Luc Nam (Bac Giang). Feeling moved by the beautiful scenery of this historical land, rich in tradition of fighting foreign invaders, I was inspired to write the poem "Through Cam Ly".
Two days later, I went to the Hai Duong Newspaper office and gave it to the Editor-in-Chief, who was also a poet and artist. After reading it, he immediately corrected two words in the verse "In the boundless afternoon sun" to: "In the boundless afternoon sun "loang" and said: "Good article, keep writing". The following weekend I received a newspaper offering to publish the poem "Chieu Van Kiep". So he also edited the title of the poem.
Later, the poem "Chieu Van Kiep" was selected by the editorial board to be included in the book "Poetry, stories, memoirs 10 years, Hai Duong Newspaper" on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the first issue of the newspaper. And fortunately, the poem was set to music by musician Hong Toan with a song of the same name, broadcast on Voice of Vietnam Radio.
As a poetry lover, my first poem was published and encouraged by the Editorial Board of Hai Duong Newspaper, I was very happy and have been a contributor since then until now. It was truly a beautiful memory in my spiritual life, helping me have a turning point in my poetry and be admitted to the Literature and Arts Association of my home province.
Every year, Hai Duong Newspaper also organizes a conference for collaborators. Writers from inside and outside the province have the opportunity to meet each other and are warmly and sincerely welcomed by the editorial office. We often say to each other "That is a memorable festival for collaborators" with the close Hai Duong Newspaper!
