Chelsea sinks Southampton 4-0, finds the joy of victory again

A resounding victory over bottom-ranked Southampton on the morning of February 26 helped Chelsea regain the trust of fans after a series of 3 consecutive losses in all competitions.

Chelsea were 3-0 up at half-time, ending any hopes of a point for the visitors. Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto and Levi Colwill took advantage of the weak defence to help the home side decide the game early.

Chelsea continued to dominate in the second half and scored another goal thanks to a quick counter-attack that ended with a precise close-range finish from full-back Marc Cucurella.

The defeat left Southampton at the bottom of the table with only 9 points after 22 rounds, 13 points behind the safe zone.
