The People's Court of Hai Duong province sentenced Nguyen Thi Thanh, former Director of Hai Phong Coal Processing and Trading Enterprise, to 13 years and 6 months in prison for impersonating the Director of Dong Bac Coal Mineral Investment Joint Stock Company (Quang Ninh) to embezzle 4 billion VND.
Nguyen Thi Thanh (born in 1978 in Cam Pha City, Quang Ninh), former Director of Hai Phong Coal Processing and Trading Enterprise, was sentenced to 13 years and 6 months in prison by the People's Court of Hai Duong province for fraud and property appropriation in a trial on August 14.
Thanh, in the name of the Director of Dong Bac Coal Mineral Investment Joint Stock Company (Quang Ninh), was authorized by the company to mobilize capital for coal business to trick Mr. Nguyen Van Trung (born in 1976 in Pha Lai Ward, Chi Linh City) into transferring 4 billion VND into his account. After receiving the money, Thanh did not transfer Mr. Trung's money to the account of Hai Phong Coal Processing and Trading Enterprise but instead appropriated and spent it for personal use.
About 2 months later, Mr. Trung asked for the money back but Thanh did not pay.
