People flock to pray for good luck right after New Year's Eve

Tay Ho Palace (Hanoi) was packed with people from midnight on the first day of the Lunar New Year.The cold weather in the capital at night, 12 degrees Celsius, cannot stop the increasing number of people flocking to the sacred place to pray.Ms. Pham Ngan traveled from Trung Van (Nam Tu Liem district) to Tay Ho district to sell lucky salt. She said this is the second year she has done this job here with the hope of bringing good luck to everyone in the spring.Ms. Nguyen Lua (Nguyen Khoi street, Hanoi) after celebrating New Year's Eve and watching fireworks, immediately went to Tay Ho temple and bought offerings.The service of writing petitions outside the Tay Ho Palace gate works all night. This year is also the first year that Ms. Lua goes to the palace on New Year's Eve. The woman expressed her wish for her family to have good health in the new year and good luck in business.Inside the yard was filled with people standing and praying. The offerings were simple, including candy, fruit and incense.Tay Ho Temple is one of the famous spiritual tourist attractions in Hanoi. People often come here to pray for luck at the beginning of the year or on the full moon day.Similar scene at Quan Su Pagoda (Hanoi) at dawn on the first day of TetAt Vinh Nghiem Pagoda (District 3, Ho Chi Minh City), hundreds of people also went to worship from 0:00 on the first day of Tet.Unlike the cold scene in Hanoi, people in Ho Chi Minh City can comfortably travel at night when the temperature is around 28 degrees Celsius.During the Lunar New Year, tens of thousands of people are expected to flock to this temple to pray for good luck at the beginning of the year.HQ (according to Vietnamnet)
