The only village in Vietnam honored as the best tourist village in the world

Tan Hoa is the only locality in Vietnam voted among the list of 260 tourist villages from 60 countries participating in the award, recognized by UNWTO on October 19.

Despite the unfavorable weather, thousands of people in Tan Hoa commune eagerly came to the ceremony very early. Each person's face was filled with joy, pride and happiness when they were able to participate in receiving the title of many spiritual values ​​for their contributions in the journey to be recognized by UNWTO as the best tourist village in the world.

Mr. Tran Huu Dong (in Hamlet 2, Tan Hoa Commune) said that the local people were happy and eagerly awaited the ceremony to receive the title recognized by the world organization for the village. Despite being busy and the weather not being favorable due to heavy rain, the people still arranged their work to attend the ceremony.

Tan Hoa Commune is located about 10km southeast of Quy Dat town center, Minh Hoa mountainous district, a land of many difficulties due to frequent flooding during the flood season. Overcoming adversity, the people here are industrious, patient, and resilient, gradually adapting to natural disasters.

The floating house model of the local people here is considered an initiative to live with floods. Up to now, in Tan Hoa commune, every family has 1-2 floating houses to ensure their lives every time there is a flood...

Many floating houses are not only a lifesaver during floods, but the locals here have also thought hard and invested in turning them into homestays to serve tourists.

Locals have also boldly invested, turning their kitchens not only to serve their families but also to meet the needs of tourists. Therefore, visitors to Tan Hoa commune can not only enjoy the majestic scenery of the mountains and forests, the wild beauty such as the unique cave system, including Tu Lan and Chuot cave, the famous filming location in the blockbuster Kong Skull Island, but can also experience the life and hard work of the local people.

Mr. Nguyen Chau A, General Director of Oxalis Company, shared that tourism here has improved a lot, becoming a destination chosen by many tourists. What is special is that the people here still maintain their simplicity, not crowded, together preserving and exploiting tourism in accordance with the law for sustainable development on the basis of preserving the landscape and traditional cultural identity of their homeland.

Vice Chairman of Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee Ho An Phong said that Tan Hoa has many scenic spots, hard-working people, peaceful countryside, little affected by market mechanisms, which is rare in other places. Tan Hoa has been able to develop tourism and if this sustainable development direction is maintained, the locality will achieve many encouraging results in the near future.

Chairman of Tan Hoa Commune People's Committee Truong Thanh Duyen presented the locality's plan to preserve the title and strive to achieve more high standards so that Tan Hoa is always a destination for experiences that few places can offer.

At the ceremony, leaders of Quang Binh province awarded Certificates of Merit to many organizations and individuals who contributed to building and developing Tan Hoa to become the best tourist village in the world in 2023.

Previously, on the night of November 13, Tan Hoa commune organized a special cultural and artistic program to celebrate the event of being honored as the best tourist village in the world. Many people and tourists came to participate in the program.
