Ngo Thanh Van asks Hollywood director to speak Vietnamese in "The Architect"

The Creator, a Hollywood fantasy film starring Ngo Thanh Van, will be released in theaters from September 29. In the film, the "action woman" from Tra Vinh will return as an AI robot named Kami. Kami is a robot in the journey of Joshua (John David Washington) and "weapon of destruction" Alfie (Madeleine Yuna Voyles).

The film directed by Gareth Edwards is set in the near future when the war between AI and humans broke out with the New Asia region, which is also the center of the war. The Creator is attracting Vietnamese fans because of its many scenes of terraced fields and limestone mountains in Vietnam as well as the appearance of Ngo Thanh Van.

"I feel really lucky to be able to accompany big movies and projects. Although it can't be called grand yet, I still feel very proud. Audiences will not have difficulty recognizing Kami's Vietnamese lines inThe Creator.Ngo Thanh Van shared: “When participating in any Hollywood project, I always change the character's origin to Vietnamese. If it is already a Vietnamese character, I often add typical Vietnamese elements to the Vietnamese dialogue. Because I think that when I have the opportunity to appear in an international project, I always want to create some kind of impression to let everyone know that I am Vietnamese. The actress said she discussed with director Gareth Edwards many details surrounding the Vietnamese setting and language in the film: "Gareth is a very gentle but creative director and gives actors the freedom to express their roles within the scope of their characters. When working with Gareth, I felt really comfortable and the two of us also discussed with each other to contribute and share more about the settings and words of Vietnam. Gareth gave me complete freedom to be able to create dialogue for the character Kami."
