High income, opening up many other job opportunities, so many young people choose being a livestream model as their main job.
High income, many opportunities
In recent years, brands and business owners have taken full advantage of the livestream feature on social networks and consider it an effective marketing method in the era of technology 4.0. Currently, many brands and business owners have completely stopped taking photos of each product to post online, instead using livestream to attract customers. Through this form, customers can feel the product intuitively, receive immediate feedback and advice, and easily close orders.
In particular, nowadays almost all products can be marketed via livestream, from household appliances, electronics, refrigeration, cosmetics, fashion, food, even pharmaceuticals and high-value products such as motorbikes... Therefore, being a livestream model has become an attractive profession with a high income, attracting many young people.
After graduating from high school, while still struggling to choose a path for herself, Ms. Doan Ha Anh (born in 2003) read the recruitment information for livestream models of Yody Fashion Joint Stock Company. "Compared with the company's requirements, I was quite confident in myself, so I boldly applied and was lucky to be selected. Up to now, I have been with the company for 3 years," Ms. Doan Ha Anh shared.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy (born in 2000) has also been a livestream model for 4 years. Before coming to this profession, Mr. Huy worked in many different jobs such as restaurant, hotel, supermarket staff, fashion sales... Then, by chance, he was chosen by a brand to try his hand at the position of livestream model.
Mr. Huy said: “At that time, I was quite hesitant because I knew nothing about this profession. I didn’t know if I could go a long way with this profession or if it was just a temporary job. But then I decided to try my hand and now I feel lucky because I took the risk at that time.”
Ms. NTH is the owner of a lingerie store in Hai Duong City. Nearly a year ago, she started selling on the social networking platform TikTok. According to Ms. H., selling on this platform mainly relies on livestreaming, so she posted a recruitment for sales models. Within a week, more than 10 people contacted her to apply. "I chose 2 people with good looks and fluent speech to live 2 sessions on TikTok every day," Ms. H. said.
According to some people in the profession, being a livestream model helps them develop their communication skills, improve their vocabulary, be confident in front of the camera, and communicate confidently. More importantly, this profession can bring them an income of tens of millions of VND per month. In addition to hourly salary or live wages, brands also have many incentives for live models such as commissions on products or total revenue during the live session. This profession also brings many other job opportunities for models. Currently, in addition to being a live model for the Yody brand, Ms. Ha Anh also accepts hourly live or video clips for some brands and shop owners.
“After several years in the profession, I have been known by many brands and invited to cooperate. In addition to the time I spend live for brands, I will live and do affiliate marketing to earn commissions on my personal channel. One of the attractive things this profession brings is that I have the opportunity to work and meet many famous singers, actors, and models; I can travel to many places, both working and traveling,” Huy shared.
Pressure
Although it brings in a good income, being a livestream model is not easy. Most brands and business owners require models to have a beautiful appearance, a good voice, know how to apply makeup, know how to advise customers and have the ability to close deals... Many places have even stricter requirements such as for each livestream, the model must achieve the target number of viewers and shares.
Many live models share that after starting their career, they have to completely change their lifestyle and habits. They have to stay up late and wake up early, eat lunch at 1-2pm, and dinner at 8-9pm.
“The work intensity of this job is also very high. I have experienced live shifts that lasted 12 hours and had to talk continuously. There were days when the live schedule was so tight, we finished the evening shift at 3am but by 8am there was a new live shift so it was very tiring,” Huy confided.
For Ms. Ha Anh, each live session is a different challenge, because if every live session has the same script and the same way of speaking, it will easily bore customers. Ms. Ha Anh said: “To stick with this job, we must always develop and improve ourselves by reading books to improve our vocabulary, updating trends on social networks; practicing to stay healthy and fit; learning how to apply makeup to look good on camera…”.
Ms. Nguyen Bao Ngoc (Pham Ngu Lao Ward, Hai Duong City) is an online shopping enthusiast. “Every day I surf social networks and watch livestreams, so I have encountered quite a few offensive live shows. To attract customers, many livestream models change clothes directly on live, some even wear lingerie on live and then curse and tease customers. In my opinion, to get customers to choose their products, live models should learn the skills of closing deals, communicating with customers, understanding the products to give customers the right advice, and not sell products using tricks,” Ms. Ngoc said.
