September 12, opening of the 26th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attended, delivered the opening speech and, together with the Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly, took turns chairing the content of the session.

At this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee spent a lot of time reviewing and commenting on the work of law making. The National Assembly Standing Committee commented on the following draft laws: draft law on defense industry, security and industrial mobilization; draft law on archives (amended); draft law on organization of people's courts (amended); draft law on capital city (amended); draft law on social insurance (amended) (2nd time).

The National Assembly Standing Committee gave opinions on explaining, accepting and revising the following draft laws: draft Law on Credit Institutions (amended); draft Law on Land (amended) (2nd time).

Regarding supervision activities, the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on the 2023 work report and the 2024 audit plan of the State Audit; give opinions on the draft Supervision Plan and the report outline of the National Assembly Standing Committee's Supervision Delegation on "Implementation of policies and laws on ensuring traffic order and safety from 2009 to the end of 2023"; give opinions on the 2023 Work Reports of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy; reports of the Government on corruption prevention and control, crime prevention and control, law violations and execution of judgments in 2023.

At the meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee will review the report on the results of the National Assembly's Thematic Supervision Delegation on "Implementation of the National Assembly's resolutions on the National Target Programs on new rural construction for the 2021-2025 period, sustainable poverty reduction for the 2021-2025 period, socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the 2021-2030 period"; review the reports of the Government, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, the State Audit and the report of the National Assembly Secretary General summarizing the content of the examination of the Ethnic Council and the National Assembly's Committees on the implementation of a number of resolutions of the 14th National Assembly on thematic supervision and questioning and the National Assembly's resolutions on thematic supervision and questioning from the beginning of the 15th term to the end of the 4th Session; review the National Assembly's report on people's petitions in August 2023.

Regarding decisions on important issues, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave opinions on: a report on the roadmap to shorten the process and time for annual state budget settlement; the adjustment of a number of contents of Resolution No. 53/2017/QH14 dated November 24, 2017 of the National Assembly on the Feasibility Study Report of the Land Reclamation, Compensation, Support and Resettlement Project of Long Thanh International Airport; a draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the application of additional corporate income tax according to regulations on preventing erosion of the global tax base; a draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the pilot application of investment support policies in the high-tech sector.

At the meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on preparations for the 6th Session of the National Assembly.
