China and the United States have held the next round of consultations on foreign policy planning, to discuss issues related to each other's foreign policies, as well as international and regional situations of mutual concern, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
Xinhua News Agency quoted the ministry's announcement as saying that this round of consultations took place in Shanghai on February 27. The two sides conducted the consultations under the chairmanship of Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister and Director of the Policy Planning Department, Mr. Miao Dewu, and Mr. Salman Ahmed - Director of the Policy Planning Staff Office to the US Secretary of State.
The two sides had frank, in-depth and constructive consultations on each other's foreign policies, the international situation and regional issues of concern.
Previously, on November 1, 2023, the US and China conducted foreign policy consultations in Vienna (Austria).
