When arriving at the apartment building, Hung discovered that there were many residents' bicycles left in the lobby, and the security guards were not watching closely, so he had the intention of stealing them.
On the afternoon of November 5, according to information from the Ha Dong District Police (Hanoi), at the end of October, this agency received a report about a bicycle theft. at Mullberry apartment, Mo Lao ward.
Most of the stolen property was expensive bicycles. Police determined that the thieves had connections with residents of the apartment building and were aware of loopholes in the maintenance and care of the bicycles.
Through checking and extracting security cameras, the police found that after the bicycle theft, a Peugeot car left the basement. The owner of this car is a resident of the building, and has a boyfriend who often comes here.
The Peugeot owner's boyfriend is Nguyen Huy Hung (born in 1986, in Trung Van, Nam Tu Liem). Hung runs a car parking lot in Trung Van ward and has four previous convictions for disturbing public order and harming the health of others.
Based on collected documents and evidence, the police summoned Nguyen Huy Hung to work and the subject confessed to the crime.
According to Hung's statement, when he arrived at the apartment building, he discovered many bicycles in the lobby, so he had the intention of stealing them.
Specifically, when he discovered the property was left unattended, Hung took it down to the apartment basement, then put it in the trunk of his girlfriend’s car and drove it back to his parking lot to hide it. The cars Hung stole were branded cars such as MYSEASON, Louis Garneau, Lokone, etc.
Through the above incident, the police agency recommends that vehicle owners and security guards need to strengthen measures to protect assets and control vehicles entering and leaving the apartment building to prevent and guard against bad guys taking advantage of loopholes to commit theft.
