Coach Jose Mourinho predicts Portugal will meet England in the Euro 2024 final, with his home team winning.
In an interview on the channelTNT Sports, former centre-back Rio Ferdinand asked Mourinho for six predictions for the Euros, including champions, runners-up, surprise package, top scorer, best player of the tournament, and Ballon d'Or. In the first two categories, the 61-year-old coach chose Portugal and England respectively, without much thought.
Portugal won the European Championship once in 2016, beating France 1-0 in extra time thanks to a goal from striker Eder. Meanwhile, England has never won the tournament, and only reached the final once in 2021, losing to Italy in a penalty shootout.
