On the morning of May 24, the Central Information and Communications Department of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in coordination with the Buddhist Information Portal held an award ceremony for the contest "Buddhism in my heart".
Most Venerable, Dr. Thich Gia Quang - Vice President of the Executive Council, Head of the Central Information and Communications Department of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha awarded the first prize to author Quang Phuong.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Most Venerable, Dr. Thich Gia Quang - Vice Chairman of the Executive Council, Head of the Central Information and Communications Department of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha said: After 6 months since launching the contest, as of April 30, 2023, the Organizing Committee has received 800 entries in different categories, including the author with the most entries with 5 entries, the author with the least entries with 1 entry.
From November 2022 to the end of April 2023, the Jury selected 30 works to be posted on the Vietnam Buddhist Information Portal. Some works will continue to be selected, posted and updated in the near future.
The contest “Buddhism in my heart” is organized with the aim of encouraging the spirit of learning about Buddhism in society and the Buddhist community, improving understanding of Buddhist knowledge, spreading, honoring and preserving the traditional cultural and humanistic values of Buddhism.
This contest is open to all, including monks, nuns, Buddhists, fellow Buddhists and those who love Buddhism at home and abroad. The official prizes include one first prize worth 20 million VND, two second prizes worth 10 million VND each and three third prizes worth 6 million VND each.
At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to the article “Tu Nha” by author Quang Phuong, residing in Gia Hoi ward, Hue city (Thua Thien - Hue province). Two second prizes were awarded to the articles “I have met the Buddha since the beginning of time until now” by author Luu Dinh Long, residing in Ho Chi Minh city and the article “Letting go of fear, sadness and dissatisfaction of human life” by author Nguyen Thi Kim Ngoc, residing in Ho Chi Minh city. Three third prizes were awarded to the articles “Visiting Vien Minh ancestral temple” by author Dieu An - Tran Ngoc Ha, residing in Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), the article “Writing for mother and child” by author Tran Thi Minh, residing in Lao Cai city (Lao Cai province) and the article “Lay Nguoi, I have returned” by author Duong Thi Kim Yen, residing in Phu My town, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
