Open Bib of Bac Giang Newspaper Open Race 2024 - "Sacred Land Convergence"

On the morning of August 8, at Bac Giang Newspaper, the Organizing Committee of the 41st Bac Giang Newspaper Open Race in 2024 - "Sacred Land of Convergence" held a ceremony to announce the opening of Bib (running registration), receive sponsorship and issue a press release about the race. This is an activity to celebrate the 129th anniversary of the founding of Bac Giang province on October 10 (1895-2024) and towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day on June 21 (1925-2025).

Attending the ceremony were comrade Trinh Van Anh, Provincial Party Committee member, Editor-in-Chief of Bac Giang Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the award, and leaders of a number of relevant departments, branches and units.

This is an annual running tournament organized by Bac Giang Newspaper in coordination with departments, branches and units every year. After 40 times of organization, the tournament has attracted a large number of people from all walks of life, especially young people, students, officers and soldiers of the armed forces to participate. Thereby spreading the movement of physical training and sports following the example of great Uncle Ho. According to information from the Organizing Committee, in order to innovate, expand the scale and quality of the tournament associated with promoting the image of the land and people of Bac Giang, this year, the tournament changed its name from the Traditional Bac Giang Newspaper Cross-Country Race to the Expanded Bac Giang Newspaper Running Race with the theme "Convergence of Sacred Land".

Compared to previous seasons, this year's tournament has many new points in terms of content and distance. The collective race (each team has 53 people) is for athletes who are junior high and high school students (no longer for students from universities, colleges, vocational schools in the province, officers, soldiers of the armed forces, and health clubs of Bac Giang City).

This year's tournament will not organize short-distance cross-country events for junior high school students and athletes from districts, towns and cities. Instead, the tournament will be organized in the form of a half-marathon with distances of 5 km, 10 km, 21 km for athletes nationwide to participate. With a new 21 km route, it promises to attract a large number of athletes nationwide to participate. The running route is arranged through beautiful routes, areas with famous relics and tourist attractions of Bac Giang city such as: 3/2 Square, the special national relic site of Xuong Giang Victory Site, Bac Giang Station, My Do Bridge, A Lu Bridge, Vincom Plaza Bac Giang, the clock tower on Hung Vuong Street, walking street...

During the Bib announcement ceremony, the Organizing Committee received sponsorship and presented flowers to thank representatives of Tan Thinh Construction Co., Ltd. and Fuji Bac Giang Development Joint Stock Company. These are the businesses that accompany the award.

Here, a number of reporters from news agencies and newspapers shared some solutions to improve communication efficiency, attract resources to support the tournament, and promote the image of the land and people of Bac Giang. At the same time, they requested the Organizing Committee to provide information on accommodation options, ensure security and order, and health for athletes, especially athletes from other provinces and foreigners participating.

Informing reporters, members of the Organizing Committee said that two outstanding Vietnamese athletes, Nguyen Thi Oanh and Pham Tien San, are expected to participate in the opening ceremony to encourage the athletes. For athletes from other provinces and foreigners participating in the tournament, some hotels will support accommodation costs (20-50% discount on room rates).

In order to increase the scale of the tournament in the following years, contributing to promoting and developing local tourism, the Organizing Committee will survey the facilities of accommodation, food, terrain... in districts, towns, and cities. If the requirements for the race meet, it will be held in localities associated with tourism promotion, creating opportunities for athletes to explore new routes.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, comrade Trinh Van Anh thanked the agencies, units and enterprises for their cooperation with Bac Giang Newspaper in organizing the tournament. This is the first time the unit has organized the tournament in the form of a half-marathon and used running Bibs, so there will inevitably be shortcomings. Therefore, the Organizing Committee hopes that the units will continue to promote their roles, accompany, coordinate and actively support to create a successful and meaningful season.

To spread the tournament widely in the community, he requested that central and local news agencies and newspapers actively promote the tournament's contents, new and attractive running routes, and local landscapes, scenic spots, and historical relics.

As planned, the 41st Bac Giang Newspaper Open Race in 2024 - "Sacred Land Convergence" is expected to open at 7:30 a.m. on October 13 at 3/2 Square, Bac Giang City. The number of athletes expected to participate is from 4-4.5 thousand, an increase of about 1.5 thousand athletes compared to previous seasons.
