MG5 Pro can be considered an upgraded version of MG5, with changes from appearance to technology.
At the Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) 2024, besides the familiar MG5, a "strange" version called the MG5 Pro appeared.
The MG5 Pro and MG5 have similar dimensions, measuring 4,675 mm in length and 1,842 mm in width. Wheelbase 2,680 mm
The difference in appearance is concentrated in the front. The radiator grille is larger, the design is larger and more sparse. The main lighting cluster is pushed down, the cluster above only integrates daytime LED positioning.
The MG5 Pro's LED taillights also have a different look. The rear of the car is more aggressive with dual exhaust pipes on both sides.
MG5 Pro has black painted details such as glass edges, mirror caps, 17-inch wheels and a small spoiler attached to the trunk to increase the sporty look. The brake cluster is painted red.
MG5 Pro has a black cabin with red accents, sporty seats, 6-way power driver's seat
MG5 Pro's amenities stand out with a 7-inch electronic screen behind the steering wheel, a 10-inch central screen, an electronic parking brake, automatic air conditioning with integrated dust filter...
MG5 Pro uses the same engine as MG5. It is a 1.5L engine with 114 horsepower and 150Nm torque, combined with CVT. MG5 in Vietnam is also using this engine.
The MG5 Pro has some more notable safety features than the MG5, such as blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, and lane change assist. Other basic safety features include electronic stability control, hill start assist, collision sensors, a rear camera, and six airbags. With more modern features, the MG5 Pro can reassure those who are still hesitant after ANCAP gave it a zero safety score.
The starting price of MG5 Pro in Thailand is 629,900 baht (equivalent to 428 million VND). In Vietnam, MG5 is distributed in two different variants. One variant is named New MG5 using manual transmission imported from China, focusing on the advantage of low price (from 399 million VND). The remaining variant named MG5 is imported from Thailand, priced from 523 million VND. Therefore, it is not impossible that MG5 Pro will be brought to Vietnam in the near future, but it will be difficult to keep the price of 428 million VND similar to Thailand.TB (according to Tuoi Tre)
