Thoa was taken to the provincial General Hospital for emergency care, underwent surgery, and was in a coma for 12 days before waking up.

The accident that suddenly happened to her only child who had just entered 10th grade a few days ago made Ms. Dao Thi Linh almost collapse. The poor mother ran around everywhere to raise 4 million VND to bring to the hospital to save her daughter who was in a life-threatening situation. Due to severe trauma and heavy blood loss, Thoa fell into a deep coma, the surgery was fortunately initially successful. Doctors had to remove the skull fragment and send it to Hanoi Medical University Hospital for treatment. After many months of special treatment, Thoa has now regained consciousness but is paralyzed on one side and still needs long-term treatment.

Sitting next to her daughter was Linh, her face haggard and haggard, massaging her daughter’s arms and legs, her eyes dark from lack of sleep. Linh choked up and said that her husband had left a long time ago, the family’s finances were difficult, and her grandmother at home was old and sick and needed someone to take care of her.

“There were times when I felt like I had no strength left to live. Since my child’s accident, I have not been able to sleep. Every time I lie down on the bed, tears well up in my eyes, praying for my child to recover soon,” Linh said, wiping away her tears.

So far, the person who caused the accident has only supported Linh's family with 40 million VND, while the medical expenses for Thoa over the past 6 months have been nearly 200 million VND. The poor family of 3 can only rely on 2 sao of rice fields and Linh's unstable job as a hired hand. Despite trying their best to find a cure for her child, after two brain injury surgeries, Linh's family's finances are now exhausted.

Mr. Nguyen Kim Kien, Party Cell Secretary and Head of the old Hoang Gian residential area, confirmed that Ms. Linh's family was in very difficult circumstances, having been a near-poor household for many years. Thoa's accident made the family even more destitute, and he hoped that kind-hearted people would help ease her family's difficulties.
