Very quickly, Barca equalized in the 13th minute. Lewandowski successfully finished from the penalty spot. Before that, Balde was fouled by Tomas Araujo in the penalty area.

However, goalkeeper Szczesny put the visitors in a difficult position. In the 22nd minute, he rushed out and made a mistake and collided with Balde, who actively retreated to block. The ball flew to Pavlidis' feet and the Benfica striker easily increased the score to 2-1.

In the 30th minute, Szczesny was confirmed by the referee to have fouled Akturkoglu and Benfica were awarded a penalty. Pavlidis completed his hat-trick from the 11m mark.

In the second half, Barca rose strongly. In the 64th minute, goalkeeper Trubin carelessly passed the ball straight to Raphinha's position and the gap was shortened to 2-3.

The joy did not last long as Barca conceded their fourth goal. In the 68th minute, Schjelderup put the ball in, causing Ronald Araujo to score an own goal in his attempt to block it.

In the 76th minute, Barca reduced the gap to 3 - 4. Lewandowski completed his double from the 11m mark. Before that, Fernandez fouled Yamal in the penalty area. In the 86th minute, Pedri crossed the ball for Eric Garcia to jump high and head the ball into Benfica's net to tie the score at 4 - 4.

But this was not the end of the match. In the 90+6 minute, Raphinha broke away at speed, then calmly dribbled past the opposing defender and scored against Benfica, sealing a 5-4 victory for Barca.
