The reason why privately imported Mercedes-AMG GT R supercar is 4 billion VND more expensive than genuine

The Mercedes-AMG GT line has long been unpopular in Vietnam, due to its high price and design that does not suit the tastes of the rich in our country. While the GT version only has about 5 units, the number of GT R versions is much larger, with 4 GT R versions and 2 GT R Pro versions brought into the country by private and official units.

This blue Mercedes-AMG GT R is one of them, but it is more special because it is the only GT R in Vietnam that is privately imported. Of course, the selling price of the car is not cheap when the Saigon tycoon has to spend more than 16 billion VND to own it. Meanwhile, the official dealer announced the starting price of the GT R from only 11.6 billion VND.

The exterior of the car is painted in a green color called Designo Green Hell Magno, typical of the AMG GT R. This color is inspired by the Nurburgring racetrack with lush green forests on both sides of the road. This racetrack is also often called by the nickname "Green Hell". Besides the car in the article, there is another car painted in a similar color, imported and owned by Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu.

With a price difference of more than 4 billion VND, the privately imported green Mercedes-AMG GT R has a number of key differences, with a series of carbon fiber details such as the front bumper, side fins, side skirts, diffuser, rearview mirror cover, rear spoiler and hood. The genuine car only has the hood using this material.

The design of the Mercedes-AMG GT R is different from the GT version thanks to the front bumper with air vents and air vents to increase aerodynamics. The rear of the car has air vents on both sides, accompanied by a diffuser with many wind splitters. The overall car has a more racing style than the GT or GT S versions, which are less popular in Vietnam.

The car uses a set of multi-spoke black rims, measuring 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear. The rim edges are milled to highlight the “legs” and have an additional AMG badge. The highlight inside is the orange brake calipers - different from the genuine imported car that uses yellow brakes.

The interior of the privately imported Mercedes-AMG GT R is no less special, with a dominant black color scheme and yellow accents on the steering wheel, seat belts and stitching. The genuine GT R combines black and white, with brighter red seat belts.

Some details in the cockpit are made of carbon fiber, with a rough surface finish such as the air-conditioning vents, center console, etc. In addition, the seats are optional racing-style seats instead of the more comfortable electric sports seats in genuine imported cars.

The design of the Mercedes-AMG GT R with a front-mounted engine, uses a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine and a "hot inside V" turbo cluster arrangement to optimize cleaner air flow, better heat dissipation but still maintain a hot temperature to optimize engine operation, providing more stable performance.

The engine on this supercar provides 585 horsepower and maximum torque of 700 Nm in the 2,100-5,500 rpm range, combined with rear-wheel drive and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Thanks to that, the car easily accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, with a maximum speed of 318 km/h. The car also has a 9-level traction control system and an intelligent steering function on the rear axle.
