Bodybuilder Tran Dinh Thang reduces weight class, determined to win gold medal at SEA Games 32

Tran Dinh Thang, in his first SEA Games participation in his career, is expected to bring home a gold medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation.

As one of the Hai Duong athletes called up to the national teams, weightlifter Tran Dinh Thang is urgently training to compete at the 32nd SEA Games.

At this tournament, Tran Dinh Thang registered to compete in the over 89 kg category, about 10 kg less than the weight category he competed in at the 9th National Sports Festival in 2022.

Currently, Tran Dinh Thang is training in Hanoi and is expected to go to Cambodia on May 11.

Along with traditional rowing and diving athletes of Hai Duong, Tran Dinh Thang, in his first SEA Games participation in his career, is expected to bring home a gold medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation.

At the 9th National Sports Festival in 2022, Tran Dinh Thang won 3 out of 4 gold medals for Hai Duong weightlifting, and broke 3 national records in the 160 kg snatch, 196 kg clean and jerk and 356 kg total.
