On July 7, the Hezbollah movement in Lebanon announced that it had used drones to carry out an attack on Israel's electronic and technical reconnaissance center in Mount Hermon, northern Golan Heights.

This is believed to be a move in response to Israel's assassination of a senior member of Hezbollah a day earlier.

In a statement, Hezbollah said the center was burned down and much of its equipment was also destroyed in the drone strike.

According to Hezbollah, the center in Mount Hermon was targeted for the first time since the 1973 Arab-Israeli war and this is considered the largest operation by Hezbollah's air force since October 8 last year.

Israel has not yet responded to Hezbollah's statement.

Previously, Mr. Maysam Al-Attar, a senior member of Hezbollah, was killed on July 6 in an Israeli airstrike on the town of Shaath, north of the city of Baalbek in eastern Lebanon.

Tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border escalated after conflict between Palestinian Hamas and Israel erupted last October.

However, the situation became even more tense after a Hezbollah leader was killed in an Israeli attack on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.

In recent days, the number of attacks between the two sides has increased, causing concern in the regional and international communities about the risk of conflict spreading throughout the Middle East.

The US and France are pushing for diplomatic efforts to ease tensions in the region. Meanwhile, Hezbollah has said the only solution to ending fighting along the border between Lebanon and Israel is a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
