Sticky rice brings in nearly 34 million VND/ha profit

The fragrant sticky rice variety developed by the Center for Science and Technology Application and Variety Testing (Hai Duong Department of Science and Technology) has brought in a profit of nearly 34 million VND/ha, 7.5 million VND/ha higher than the control variety.

This spring crop, fragrant sticky rice was tested on an area of 30 hectares in the communes of Dinh Son (Cam Giang), Lam Son (Thanh Mien) and Vinh Hong (Binh Giang).

Rice has a growing period of 120-123 days, 3-5 days shorter than the control variety N97; the plants are healthy, have few diseases, and are easy to care for; they are less susceptible to leaf rollers and stem borers than the N97 variety.

The estimated yield of fragrant sticky rice is 65.57 tons/ha, 4.8 tons/ha higher than the control variety. After deducting costs, the profit is about 34 million VND/ha, 7.5 million VND/ha higher than the control variety.
