According to the Department of Science and Technology of Hai Duong, the average rice yield of the province over the past 8 years has increased by 2.47 tons/ha/crop, from 6.033 tons/ha/crop (in 2015) to 6.28 tons/ha/crop (in 2023); the economic value of rice-growing land has also increased from 6-7 million VND/ha.
The above results were achieved because in recent years, the department has actively produced, applied and expanded many new rice varieties with high efficiency and economic value such as: TH7-2, super rice TL12, LTh31, Gia Loc 102, BQ, SHPT3, N25, QP5, CNC11, Gia Loc 301, HDT10, Bac Huong 9, HD11, Gia Loc 37, Tropical 15, Hong Duc 9, M1-ND, Dai Thom 8, BC15-02, high-quality fragrant hybrid rice TH6-6... Some varieties such as Huong Binh, Dai Thom 8, Nep Huong... have been included in the province's rice variety structure.
In the province, there are also some highly effective models such as: organic rice production in the sandbank areas of Tu Ky district; Gia Loc 516 rice production, applying "advanced technical packages" in Cam Giang, Nam Sach, Binh Giang, Tu Ky districts; VietGAP model for producing fragrant Lai 6 rice... The models contribute to increasing economic efficiency when producing concentratedly, enhancing product value and bringing environmental benefits.
