Bac Ninh Culinary Tourism Festival - Craft Villages 2023

At the program, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh province Nguyen Van Dap emphasized that tourism is a comprehensive economic sector, increasingly affirmed, has an important position in the development of the country, contributing to creating many jobs, bringing regular income to workers, eliminating hunger and reducing poverty, ensuring social security, contributing to economic restructuring, bringing in local budget revenue, attracting investment capital and exporting goods on the spot. At the same time, promoting the value of cultural heritage, protecting the environment, maintaining national defense and security and affirming the image, position and prestige of a province, of a country.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has advised and issued many documents to serve the direction and management of the province in tourism activities. Bac Ninh has invested capital in tourism activities with a total accumulated value of VND 8,326 billion, thereby contributing to changing the appearance and landscape of Bac Ninh city and improving the quality of tourism products and services, increasing the province's readiness to welcome tourists.

In 2023, the total number of visitors will reach 1.65 million, up 46% over the same period last year. Total tourism revenue is estimated at VND 1,227 billion, up 47% over the same period last year. The planned target by 2025 is that Bac Ninh will welcome and serve about 2.5 million tourists, with total tourism revenue reaching VND 2,000 billion.

The festival has the participation of 100 booths introducing culinary tourism products and craft village tourism, including 60 booths from the province and 40 booths from 12 provinces and cities, such as: Dak Lak, Nghe An, Bac Giang, Hanoi, Tuyen Quang, Vinh Phuc, Ha Nam, Lang Son, Son La, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Ninh Binh contributing to displaying and introducing typical cultural products, tours, routes, typical tourist destinations, traditional craft village products, famous culinary products of Bac Ninh and other regions in the country.

Through presentations on regional cuisine and specialties, and the sale of famous OCOP products, the Festival introduces to the people and visitors the unique culture and potential of culinary tourism and craft villages in Bac Ninh, aiming to upgrade and renew the province's tourism products. At the same time, it creates opportunities for localities and travel businesses to exchange and learn from development experiences, improve service quality and effective tourism business, create conditions for cooperation, linkage, and promote tourism development of Bac Ninh with other provinces and cities across the country.

The festival is expected to take place from now until December 18, 2023.
