New generation Lexus GX appears in Vietnam, price nearly 6 billion VND

Some Lexus dealers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are accepting deposits from customers for the Lexus GX 2024. The dealer's quote for the Lexus luxury car is around 5.9 billion VND, equivalent to the old generation GX (5.97 billion VND).

Currently, the amenities of the new Lexus GX in Vietnam have not been disclosed by the dealer. The engine alone is a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with a capacity of 326 horsepower and a maximum torque of 630 Nm. It comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This engine is the type used on the new generation Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, which will also be sold in Vietnam in 2024. The GX is the luxury version of the Prado.

In international markets, the new generation Lexus GX is equipped with a 3.4 V6 twin-turbo engine, 349 horsepower, maximum torque of 650 Nm. 10-speed automatic transmission.

Lexus GX is developed on the GA-F platform similar to the flagship SUV LX 600 but has a more off-road, square and masculine design, especially at the rear of the car.

In Japan, the GX is sold in only one version, the GX 550. Standard equipment includes LED headlights, fixed side steps, and an electric trunk.

The Lexus SUV also has a sunroof, tow hooks and 20-inch wheels. The interior features a 12.3-inch digital clock and a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen. Leather-wrapped steering wheel, ambient lighting and 10-speaker audio.

The GX's transmission and differential controls are located behind the shift paddles on the center console. The front seats are heated and cooled. The interior is available in two configurations, 6 or 7 seats.

In Vietnam, all Lexus models are imported from Japan, and the new generation GX is no exception. The price of nearly 6 billion VND of the new GX directly competes with the Land Rover Defender 130 (5.989 billion VND) imported from the UK. Both have a masculine design, tending towards off-roading, but also pamper customers with interior amenities.
