At 8:00 p.m. on December 29, Hanoi City Police said that the authorities had basically contained the fire at Lien Ha carpentry village, Dan Phuong district (Hanoi).
Authorities have not recorded any people trapped in the fire.
Previously, at 6 p.m. the same day, the Hanoi City Police Department's information command center received news of a fire at a wood workshop in Lien Ha commune.
Immediately, the city police dispatched fire prevention and fighting police from Dan Phuong and Hoai Duc districts and two more fire trucks from Bac Tu Liem district police and Fire Prevention and Fighting Center 2 to the scene.
At the scene, the red flames and heavy smoke made many people worried. The authorities have cordoned off the scene and deployed fire-fighting measures. The water supply for firefighting has been secured. Thereby, the fire has been contained.
By 8:46 p.m. the same day, the authorities had extinguished the fire and were currently working to extinguish the debris. Initial estimates indicate that the fire affected about 10 wood workshops (the extent of the fire in each workshop has not been determined), with a fire area of about 400 square meters. No casualties have been initially detected.
