Fire in claypot rice restaurant in Hanoi

At around 7am, a fire broke out on the first floor of a 4-storey clay pot rice restaurant, about 40 square metres wide, in Mo Lao ward, Ha Dong district (Hanoi).

The restaurant was open, preparing food to welcome guests. Seeing the fire, the owner and staff managed to escape, moved the motorbike in front of the door away from the fire and used a mini fire extinguisher to put out the fire but were unsuccessful.

Because there were many wooden tables and chairs in the restaurant, the fire spread rapidly, spreading to the entire first floor and the signboard. Smoke and fire spread along the stairs to the upper floors, where the owner lived. Some embers from the advertising sign were pushed up by the wind, causing the clothes drying on the attic to catch fire fiercely.

Ha Dong District Police in coordination with Fire Fighting Team Zone 4 - Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department dispatched 3 fire trucks to the scene. After a few minutes, the fire was extinguished.

At the scene, the first floor furniture was burned, the wooden stair railing was deformed. The entire house was covered in black smoke.

At around 9:15 a.m. the same day, another fire broke out at a house in lane 120 Hoang Quoc Viet, Cau Giay District. Two fire trucks were dispatched to the scene and put out the fire after about 10 minutes.

The cause of the fires is under investigation.
