Lamine Yamal continues his journey to conquer individual and collective titles. This time he was honored with the Golden Boy 2024 award, presented by the Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport.

“It is an honor to win this trophy. It is a dream, I am very happy. Thank you Tuttosport and the jury,” Lamine said in a video sent to the organizers.

Lamine Yamal continued his message: “I have not forgotten my teammates and coaching staff, at Barca and the Spanish national team. I am very happy and looking forward to more”.

The Golden Boy award, first given since 2003, is given to the best player under the age of 21 in Europe.

The jury is composed of 50 sports journalists from all over Europe. The award has been increasing in value, and is considered by experts as the Golden Ball for young football talents.

In the past, players like Lionel Messi, Cesc Fabregas, Paul Pogba, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland… have won.

Last year's Golden Boy winner was Jude Bellingham. This time, Lamine received 488 points out of 500, a record in the voting.

A month ago, Lamine Yamal was also honored with the Kopa Award for the best young player in Europe, at the Ballon d'Or Gala thanks to his performance with Barca and especially EURO 2024.
