Grandmaster Pham Tran Hoang - Hai Duong's number 1 hope has temporarily won 1 silver medal. However, the only gold medal to date of Hai Duong delegation was won by this archer's younger brother - Grandmaster Pham Tran Bao Huy.
On the afternoon of July 9, the Organizing Committee of the 2024 National Youth Archery Championship awarded medals to the winners of the all-around, men's 3-string, women's 3-string, women's 1-string, and men's 1-string events. After 3 days of competition, a total of 70 archers won 24 gold medals, 24 silver medals, and 24 bronze medals.
By the end of July 9, Hai Duong archers won 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal and a bronze medal. Notably, the number 1 hope of the Hai Duong archery team, Pham Tran Hoang, only won 1 silver medal in the men's 70m 3-string bow event. However, the gold medal belonged to this archer's younger brother - master Pham Tran Bao Huy, in the 30m 3-string bow event - U17. Before the tournament, the two master brothers Tran Hoang and Bao Huy were both called up to the national youth team. The bronze medal of the Hai Duong delegation belonged to master Hoang Ba Tai An, in the all-around event (50MX2) men's 3-string bow.
After completing the above events, from July 10, athletes will continue to enter the remaining events of the tournament including team, men's and women's teams, and individuals.
The 2024 National Youth Archery Championship will be hosted by Hai Duong at the Hai Duong Sports Training, Coaching and Competition Center. Hai Duong will send a team of 14 archers, led by coach Nguyen Xuan Thanh, with the goal of winning at least 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 2 bronze medals.
In addition to host Hai Duong, the tournament has the participation of about 200 archers and 38 coaches from 16 delegations nationwide.
