On December 20, the Investigation Police Agency of Nam Sach District Police (Hai Duong) issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute defendant Nguyen Quoc Viet for investigation of the crime of producing prohibited goods.

Nguyen Quoc Viet (born in 2005, residing in Yen Khanh village, Hoang Khai commune, Yen Son district, Tuyen Quang) rented a room in Dong Phan village, Dong Lac commune (Nam Sach).
At around 10:50 a.m. on December 19, the working group of Nam Sach District Police caught Viet red-handed illegally manufacturing firecrackers in his rented room to sell for profit.
The police seized evidence including cylindrical objects of different sizes, one end with a wire, sealed at both ends, total weight 20.5 kg and many tools for producing fireworks (including 1 plastic bag containing gray powder).
The forensic results of the Criminal Techniques Department, Hai Duong Provincial Police determined that the cylindrical objects with a total mass of 20.5 kg were all firecrackers, and the gray powder was gunpowder.
Nguyen Quoc Viet had no criminal record and wandered from Tuyen Quang to Hai Duong to find work. Unable to find a job, having no money to spend but not willing to work honestly, Viet fell into illegal behavior.
The Investigation Police Agency of Nam Sach District Police continues to consolidate records and documents to handle the case according to the provisions of law.
