3 subjects in Cam Giang (Hai Duong) were prosecuted for burying waste and filling ponds, causing environmental pollution.
The Investigation Police Agency of Cam Giang District Police has just initiated a case and prosecuted Tran Dinh Vang (born in 1980), Doan Van Thuc (born in 1973), and Doan Van Su (born in 1978), all residing in Luong Dien Commune (Cam Giang) for causing environmental pollution.
Previously, on June 29, 2023, Doan Van Thuc and Doan Van Su in Binh Long village (Luong Dien commune) intended to fill in part of their family's Lan pond area to plant trees, so they signed a contract to hire Tran Dinh Vang to fill it.
After that, Vang collected construction waste including broken bricks, mortar, concrete blocks... and industrial waste such as discarded shoe soles, stone glue, industrial paint powder and buried them in Lan pond, making the pond water black and smelly, affecting the daily life of surrounding households.
In May 2024, the Investigation Police Agency of Cam Giang District Police coordinated with relevant agencies to conduct a crime scene investigation and determine the amount of waste buried at Lan Pond. The results determined that Thuc and Su hired Vang to bury more than 400 tons of waste in violation of regulations.
