According to Al Jazeera, the assassination took place on October 23 during an attack in the Hermel area, in the northeastern Baalbek region.

According to the Israeli military, the air force unit is also responsible for carrying out drone attacks on Israel.

Hezbollah has not confirmed Amhaz's death.

Previously, on October 22, the Israeli army confirmed that it had killed Hezbollah's Hashem Safieddine, who was believed to be the successor to the slain leader Hassan Nasrallah.

Accordingly, Hashem Safieddine was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Lebanese capital Beirut on October 4. The announcement said: "It can now be confirmed that in an attack about three weeks ago, Hashem Safieddine, head of Hezbollah's Executive Council, and Ali Hussein Hazima, head of Hezbollah's Intelligence Service, were killed along with other Hezbollah commanders." Meanwhile, up to now, Hezbollah has not confirmed information related to Mr. Safieddine's life.

On October 8, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the military had eliminated Safieddine, without naming him. In a speech to the Lebanese people, Netanyahu said Israeli forces had eliminated thousands of members, including Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Nasrallah's replacement and his replacement's replacement.

Safieddine has been out of contact since the Israeli airstrikes on Beirut weeks ago, according to a senior Hezbollah source, a member of Hezbollah's decision-making body and a distant relative of Nasrallah. Safieddine is the most likely candidate to become the group's top leader.

On October 21, Israel announced that the commander responsible for financing Hezbollah in Lebanon had been killed. According to a statement by an IDF spokesman, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, the unnamed man who headed Hezbollah's Unit 4400, responsible for funneling money to the group through the sale of Tehran's oil, was killed in Syria.

Meanwhile, on October 22, Hezbollah announced that it would not participate in negotiations while fighting was taking place.

So far, diplomatic efforts have failed to end the war that has lasted more than a year, while the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel continues to escalate.

Early the same morning, Hezbollah announced that it had fired 20 rockets targeting Israeli positions in the suburbs of Tel Aviv, including two military bases and a naval base in Haifa, northern Israel.

The attacks came after a night of heavy Israeli shelling near a major public hospital south of the Lebanese capital Beirut, killing four people.

The Israeli military said it had intercepted most of the rockets fired from Lebanon, which were detected in central and northern areas of the country. Israel said there were no casualties so far.

On October 21, Israel stepped up its military operations against Hezbollah, including attacking about 300 targets across Lebanon in 24 hours. The attacks occurred near Beirut's only international airport.

According to authorities in Lebanon, at least 2,467 people have been killed in the country in a year of fighting, more than half of them since September 23.
