Indonesia fired 21 cannon shots to welcome General Secretary To Lam and his wife.

On the afternoon of March 10, at the Presidential Palace - Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Indonesia, the welcoming ceremony for General Secretary To Lam and his wife Ngo Phuong Ly and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on a state visit to the Republic of Indonesia at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Chairman of the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) Prabowo Subianto was solemnly held.

At exactly 4:45 p.m., from the gate of the Presidential Palace, the car carrying the General Secretary and his wife entered to the solemn welcome of the honor guard, military band, and a large number of children waving the national flags of both countries. President Prabowo Subianto came out to greet them at the car door, shook hands, and welcomed General Secretary To Lam and his wife.

Amidst the welcoming music, President Prabowo Subianto invited General Secretary To Lam to step up to the podium of honor.

While the military band played the Vietnamese and Indonesian national anthems, a 21-gun salute was fired, showing respect for the state visit of General Secretary To Lam and his wife.

Next, the Captain of the Indonesian Army Honor Guard invited General Secretary To Lam to inspect the honor guard. President Prabowo Subianto and General Secretary To Lam introduced the high-ranking delegations of the two countries attending the welcoming ceremony.

Before entering the talks, General Secretary To Lam signed the Guest Book at the Presidential Palace, expressing his joy at visiting the beautiful archipelago of Indonesia and his belief that the Vietnam-Indonesia relationship will develop steadily and extensively, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace and stability in the region and the world; hoping that the two countries will continue to promote their roles and become pillar members of ASEAN; wishing the solidarity and friendship between the two countries to last forever.

Afterwards, the two leaders had a private meeting; leading high-ranking delegations from the two countries to hold talks.

According to the program, after the talks, President Prabowo Subianto and General Secretary To Lam will witness the handover ceremony of cooperation documents and meet the press.
