On April 8, the Department of Education and Training of Hai Duong City organized the final round of the English Speaking Contest for primary and secondary school students for the 2022-2023 school year.
The organizing committee awarded first prize to Nguyen Ngoc Nhat Linh, Dinh Van Ta Primary School and Bui Nguyen Phuong Anh, Thanh Binh Primary School.
The contest attracted 20 primary school students and 20 secondary school students from schools across the city. These were excellent students selected from 98 primary school students and 280 secondary school students in the preliminary round.
With the theme “My Hometown Hai Duong”, each student randomly draws a topic and has 10 minutes to prepare. Students present 3 contents: a brief introduction about themselves, eloquent speech about the drawn topic, and answers to questions from the judges. Primary school students have a maximum of 3 minutes to present, 6th and 7th graders have 4 minutes, and 8th graders have 5 minutes.
Pham Bao An, Ngoc Chau Secondary School, is the best in the secondary school block.
As a result, in the primary school category, the Organizing Committee awarded first prize to Nguyen Ngoc Nhat Linh, Dinh Van Ta Primary School and Bui Nguyen Phuong Anh, Thanh Binh Primary School. Pham Bao An, Ngoc Chau Secondary School won first prize in the secondary school category. The Organizing Committee also awarded second, third, consolation and additional prizes to students with good achievements. The winning students received cash and a preferential English scholarship according to each award level.
The contestants all showed confidence.
The contest is an intellectual playground, creating conditions for students to practice presentation skills and critical thinking, and discovering students with good English communication skills.
