Regularly watching the program "Stars join the army" of the Vietnam National Defense Television Channel, and having a father who is a soldier, Tran Anh Ngoc in Quoc Tuan commune (Nam Sach) really likes the military environment. Last summer, her parents registered her to participate in the program "Naval Semester". During the 7 days of training here, she was trained in the habit of waking up early, folding blankets, practicing physical exercise, sports, fire prevention and fighting... Anh Ngoc has become more independent and mature, knowing how to help her parents with housework such as cooking, washing dishes, and helping her younger sister with her homework.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Van Anh, Anh Ngoc's mother, said that after participating in "Naval Semester", her child changed a lot, her house was more tidy and neat, and she learned to be independent. She also learned about the history of the Vietnam People's Army, thereby cultivating her love for her homeland and country. This year, Ms. Van Anh continued to register her child to participate in the program. This is also a reward for Anh Ngoc's excellent student title in the past school year.

This year, Hai Duong Provincial Youth Union continues to coordinate with Engineering Brigade 131 (Navy) to organize the program "Naval Semester" at Engineering Brigade 131 with many new features such as increasing experience, being instructed in drowning prevention skills, fire prevention and fighting, escape skills...

Also this summer, Mr. Phan Thanh Son's family in Hung Dao commune (Tu Ky) let his two children participate in the "Navy Semester" program. Last year, because he learned about the program late, Mr. Son did not have time to register. Therefore, this year he registered his children early.

This is the second year that Anh Ngoc (second from right) has been registered by her parents to participate in the "Navy Semester" program.

Mr. Son said: "I want my children to participate in this program so that they can be disciplined, understand more about Vietnamese history, and love their homeland and country. Knowing that this year they will also be taught swimming, I want them to participate."

Equipping necessary life skills is something that many families are interested in and want their children to study during the summer. Therefore, the "Military Semester" program of Hai Duong Provincial Youth Union is always innovated, suitable to the actual situation and needs of parents over the years. Not only Mr. Son's family or Ms. Van Anh's family, many other families in Hai Duong choose this program to give their children a meaningful summer experience.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Sang, Secretary of Hai Duong Provincial Youth Union, said that the Provincial Youth Union is the only unit in Hai Duong that coordinates with military units to organize the "Military Semester" program. After more than 10 years, the program has created prestige among parents and students. The Organizing Committee changes the content and form every year to bring students many new experiences. There are many students participating in "Military Semester" for many consecutive years.
