On the morning of May 19, thousands of Vietnamese people and international tourists arrived early to line up to visit President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum to celebrate the 134th anniversary of his birth.
From early morning, people lined up on Ngoc Ha street towards President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
Even though they had to line up early, everyone eagerly waited, standing in neat rows through the security screening gate before entering the Mausoleum.
Leaving at 5am to return to the capital to visit Uncle Ho's Mausoleum, the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly (Thai Nguyen) said that luckily the weather was cool today so everyone did not get tired from waiting in line for a long time.
"My children are very excited because this is the first time they have visited Uncle Ho's Mausoleum. Before, they had only heard stories about Uncle Ho and understood him through films and documentary images. I hope that this meaningful experience will help them understand more about the great leader of the nation and love their country more," Ms. Ly confided.
Earlier, on May 18, thousands of people also turned to Uncle Ho's Mausoleum and the historic Ba Dinh Square. Many young people also invited each other to visit Uncle Ho on this special occasion.
Organized by the school to visit Uncle Ho's Mausoleum, Bui Duc Dat (8 years old, Nghe An) said that the night before going to the capital, he was so excited that he couldn't sleep until 1am. Dat had heard many stories about Uncle Ho, he was very moved because this time his dream of visiting Uncle Ho's Mausoleum had come true.
Not only Vietnamese people, many international visitors also visited the Mausoleum on the occasion of the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth.
"I truly admire the national pride of the Vietnamese people. We know President Ho Chi Minh as one of the 10 world celebrities. Today, coming here to visit him, I feel more admiration for this great and talented leader," a foreign guest shared.
