On the afternoon of September 20, comrade Luu Van Ban, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the following contents of the regular September meeting (3rd time) of the Provincial People's Committee.

According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Hai Duong currently has 883 medical facilities, including 17 provincial facilities, 12 district facilities managing 235 commune-level health stations and 619 private facilities. Statistics from the units show that in 2021, the total amount of medical solid waste generated was 11,853 tons, and in 2022 it was 3,062 tons. Most medical facilities have signed contracts to transfer and treat solid waste with facilities licensed by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to treat hazardous medical waste. However, the collection and classification of medical solid waste in accordance with regulations of some small-scale private health stations and clinics is still limited. Signing contracts for the transfer of medical waste to treatment units is difficult because the volume of medical solid waste generated at these units is small, and the transportation of medical waste directly to treatment facilities is complicated due to the lack of specialized vehicles. Therefore, it is necessary to issue regulations on the collection, transportation, and treatment of medical solid waste to ensure environmental hygiene.
